Meet Henry Clay
Who was the Great Compromiser?
Meet Henry ClaySince 1926, the vision for Ashland was to create a place for the public to enjoy and learn about Henry Clay, a great American statesman. The first caretakers were Clay descendants, while they still occupied the property. Now, it is the Henry Clay Memorial Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, that owns and operates the national historic landmark that sits proudly in the heart of a lovely Lexington neighborhood. Ashland receives no city, state, or federal funding. Ongoing support is provided by friends such as you, who help Ashland continue its mission as a National Historic Landmark, Museum, and Educational Center the life and legacy of Henry Clay.

Experience the place Henry Clay declared was "as good as any" Moses would have found in the Promised Land!
