African-American Genealogy Workshop at Ashland
February 17 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
A common myth is that records documenting African-American genealogy cannot be found. The secret is to know where to look and how to search. In partnership, the African-American Genealogy Group of Kentucky (AAGGKY), the Digital Access Project (DAP), the UK Commonwealth Institute for Black Studies, and the Henry Clay Memorial Foundation, will conduct an Educational Workshop. Tips on identifying and locating records essential to the documentation of Black genealogy will be shared. Emphasis will be placed on exploring the life and livelihoods of those individuals who were once enslaved on Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Bring your curiosity and questions.
Workshop Format
